Apple’s personal assistant service, Siri, is now getting competitors from rival companies. Google has been in the labs coming up with one for Android devices, but LG decided to overtake them, launching their own take on Siri, called Quick Voice. Quick Voice is not the final name LG will use in the United States, but is only available on their Optimus phones over at South Korea. Microsoft’s Windows Phone seems to be doing okay even though Android and iOS are obviously having better success. They are able to have big hardware partners supporting them like Nokia and Samsung, but one major name will backing out of it. LG, which has not been doing well with consecutive quarters of losses, announced that they are no longer supporting the Windows Phone. The Korean conglomerate told the Korea Herald that the Windows Phone’s global numbers are not meaningful enough for them to continue their support and that they are going to focus on Android handsets instead.
