Lenovo Introduces The ThinkPad Twist, An $849 12.5″ Ultrabook And Tablet Convertible

Lenovo believes the days of PC are not over yet.  But to hedge their bets, they came out with a new laptop convertible.  This week they announced a new ThinkPad called the ThinkPad Twist.  The ThinkPad Twist is a 12.5″ tablet/laptop hybrid powered by a third-generation Intel Core i7 processor.

Targeting the business audience, the Thinkpad Twist is a Windows 8 business laptop but can be used as a full performance ultrabook. The top can be twisted to convert it into a tablet. It can also be used in different modes such as "Stand" for work collaboration via the multi-touch screen.

Running Windows 8 Pro, the Thinkpad Twist has up to an Intel Core I7 processor with a 12.5in IPS display, optional 3G connectivity, and a 500GB HDD or 128GB SSD storage.

The two USB ports will be USB 3.0-compatible, and for people who still relies on an Ethernet port, it will still be available. The Twist comes with a 8GB of RAM and up to seven hours of battery life.

In their press event, Lenovo confirmed their long goal of being the No. 1 PC maker in the world. And they believe with the rollout of the ThinkPad Twist, they will be one step closer.
