After Its Victory Over Samsung, Apple Wants 8 Of Their Products Banned

Fresh from its $1 billion victory over its lawsuit against Samsung for patent infringements, Apple has informed the court the list of Samsung products it wants banned in the U.S.  The majority of the products are no longer sold by Samsung but Samsung is expected to fight this as well.

The 8 products are:

  • Droid Charge
  • Galaxy S Showcase
  • Galaxy Prevail
  • Galaxy S 4G
  • Galaxy S2 (AT&T)
  • Galaxy S2 (Skyrocket)
  • Galaxy S2 (T-Mobile)
  • Galaxy S2 Epic 4G

Samsung is still fighting.  The injunction hearing will take place September 20th and if they lose, Samsung has promised to appeal. Though the jury did not find the Galaxy Tab 10.1 violated Apple’s patent on the iPad D’889 design, invalidating U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh’s preliminary sales ban on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on June 26, Judge Koh can overrule the jury’s decision and state that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 does infringe Apple’s D’889 design patent.

Though Apple won the lawsuit, Samsung’s continue appeal and legal battles will probably push any final rulings well into this year if not next.  What do you think of the patent battles?  Is this ruling good for consumers or it’s just Apple trying to intimidate its competitors?
