Finding the perfect wedding dress is almost every little girl’s dream, but these days, with hectic work schedules and so many fickle bridal salons, shopping for a dress can quickly turn into a nightmare. Luckily, with Little Dress Book, every girl will be able to achieve the fairy tale wedding she always deserved to have.  

Founded by Mee-Jung Jang, a former IP attorney, Little Dress Book is a service that allows users to search for bridal salons based on certain criteria and book appointments directly online. Each bridal salon will have a profile on the site displaying relevant information and dress pictures that brides can review before booking.

Jang was inspired to start LDB by her own wedding planning experience. “I absolutely loved my wedding but absolutely hated planning it,” said Jang, who married just a few weeks ago. “When I shopped for my dress and started planning my wedding, I was still working as an attorney at a big corporate law firm, which meant I barely had time to sleep or eat—so sitting by the phone playing phone tag with all the bridal salons and vendors did not make me happy,” she said. She decided to build LDB to help busy brides search and book appointments with vendors.

Yet to launch, Little Dress Book is working hard to launch private beta soon. Already users can request an invite on the website, which also currently features a cute, animated trailer that explains the service.  As LDB is based in Manhattan, the private beta will focus on salons in the New York City-area.

“The plan is to make LDB available to people all over the country,” Jang said. “We are already talking with salons in other cities such as DC and LA.”

As for how being Asian-American impacted her business, Jang says that her Korean heritage has contributed to her impatience for inefficiency. “I can’t stand wasting time, and I like things to be done quickly,” she said. “This means that when I see inefficiency, I want to fix it. And when I work, I work hard and quickly. Both of these things help with my business!”
